Issues in Reading Education
The purpose of this SIG is to encourage and solicit research

Curriculum The purpose of this SIG is to encourage and solicit research pertinent to how race and class are structured in society and recreated in schools to impact on student achievement. How forces like gender, culture, language, poverty, immigration, and globalization operate in relation to race and class and impact on student trajectories and outcomes in schools. Examination of the school reform efforts aimed at altering the ways race and class influence student achievement. Research papers drawing on qualitative and quantitative methodologies are welcomed.
