As an HPT student, you create deliverables that are used in instructional design and performance technology positions.
For example, as an instructional designer you will create training manuals, job aids, training web sites, and more that help raise employees' knowledge and skills. In addition to designing training interventions that raise employees' knowledge and skills, HPT students are trained as performance technologists who analyze organizational climates to determine optimal and actual employees' performances, their performance gaps, causes for those gaps, and appropriate solutions to close those gaps. Students also learn how to develop non-training solutions that focus on incentive issues, lack of motivation, or environmental problems. To view actual projects, click forward.
