World Lecture Hall. World Lecture Hall publishes links to pages created by faculty worldwide who are using the Web to deliver course materials in any language. Some of these links provide complete instructional modules while others simply provide an overview of online courses. While you may not use content from these sites, they may be helpful in providing some food for thought in terms of strategies for addressing course content online. CAREO is a project supported by Alberta Learning and CANARIE that has as its primary goal the creation of a searchable, Web-based collection of multidisciplinary teaching materials for educators across the province and beyond. CAREO (Campus Alberta Repository of Educational Objects) is being undertaken by the the Universities of Alberta, Calgary and Athabasca University in cooperation with BELLE (Broadband Enabled Lifelong Learning Environment), CANARIE (Canadian Network for the Advancement of Research in Industry and Education), and as a part of the Campus Alberta initiative. The Global Campus is a collaborative multimedia database containing a variety of outstanding educational materials such as images, sounds, text, and video to be used for nonprofit, educational purposes. The goal of the project is to share resources through technology by providing a central "campus" where institutions may make their resources available on the World Wide Web. We provide easy access to high quality materials which can be used for instructional development worldwide, while respecting intellectual property rights. The Gateway to Educational MaterialsSM is a Consortium effort to provide educators with quick and easy access to thousands of educational resources found on various federal, state, university, non-profit, and commercial Internet sites.| U.S. Government Sources. Various agencies within the Federal Government offer free resources that can be accessed for use in online courses. Most of the major U.S. departments (State, Labor, Justice, etc., have links to digital electronic resources appropriate to their areas of responsibility.
