The steps listed below will help you configure your web browser correctly for WebCT and
confirm you have a compatible version of the Java installed.
1. Web Browsers - The following are compatible with WebCT

2. Web browser and Toolbar Popup Blockers - Must be set to allow popup windows in WebCT.

Ocassionally, toolbars are installed on your web browser, but not visible - Click on the link below to check for hidden toolbars and make them visible if they exist.
Hidden Toolbar Check3. Tabbed Browsing - Must be turned off in Internet Explorer 7.x and Firefox 2.x to avoid popup window errors.

Turn off tabbed browsing in IE 7.x4. Remove and Install Java - WebCT requires a compatible version of Java on your computer. The current compatible Versions are 1.5.0_7 and 1.6x
a. Remove an incompatible java version
WebCT does a browser check to insure your web browser is setup correctly; sometimes, the current Java runtime software installed on your computer is not compatible with WebCT. If you have multiple versions installed you will need to remove them all - Click the on the link below to remove Java from your computer.

B. Install a compatible java version
You need to install a compatible version of Java after you have removed the incompatible versions.

5. Security Software - needs to be set to allow popup windows in WebCT.
Check to make sure Banner Ads, popups, and privacy controls are set to allow popups in WebCT.
